Twisted 23 expands the old slider concept. It has a larger game board with 24 slots and 23 tiles. Then it tilts the board on its side to present a diagonal playing field. The goal is to arrange the board in its original order as efficiently as possible.

When the Sudoku craze hit just after the turn of the century, my good friend and co-worker went completely berserk. His excitement was so contagious, that I soon began experimenting with various shapes. I'd sketch and check them by writing a brute force solver in visual basic. After numerous attempts, to optimize how the regions interacted, it finally worked. http://www.freegamesnews.com/en/... is an article about Tophat Sudoku. I had a guy code it up for me as a Flash module. Unfortunately he left a bug in the program and it wouldn’t guarantee a unique solution. I figured out how to manually enter puzzles though, and the article soon followed. A sliding puzzle stood out as a fun way to apply the amazing shape. It puts a new spin on an old classic, with a fascinating history. Rubik's Cube as a three-dimension slider, set the 80's off to a crazy start. And now Twisted 23 arrives on the scene, just as people are told to stay home, and practice social distancing. At least now they can preoccupy themselves with a new challenge.
