TRUEHOUR - The trusted financial OS for equipment-based businesses

by
TRUEHOUR is a business app for owner-operators and equipment contractors who need to know their true cost per hour. Built on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers O&O methodology, TRUEHOUR calculates equipment costs, allocates overhead, builds profitable job estimates, tracks estimated vs. actual profit, and generates Schedule C-ready reports — helping equipment-based businesses price jobs with confidence and protect their margins.

I built TRUEHOUR because I kept seeing hard-working equipment owners slowly lose money without realizing it. They were skilled operators. Motivated. Willing to outwork anyone. But when it came to pricing their equipment, accounting for overhead, and understanding their true cost per hour — most were guessing. I know because I lived it myself. My background is in engineering, military aviation, and running a forestry mulching business since 2014. Over the years, my YouTube channel, Clevinger Forest Services, evolved into mentoring people who wanted to start their own equipment-based businesses. I had thousands of conversations with owner-operators trying to figure out pricing, profitability, estimating, and whether they were actually making money. Meanwhile, I was managing my own business with spreadsheets everywhere, QuickBooks subscriptions that felt oversized for a one-man operation, and disconnected systems that were frustrating to maintain. So I decided to build the tool I wished I had from the beginning. TRUEHOUR uses the same Owning & Operating cost methodology developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and combines it with overhead allocation, estimating, profit tracking, reporting, and mobile-first business management tools built specifically for small equipment businesses. The goal was simple: Give the small owner-operator the financial clarity and operational leverage of a much larger company. Not theory. Not generic accounting software. A tool built by an owner-operator for owner-operators. Would genuinely appreciate feedback from the Product Hunt community.
