I wish I had this 12 years ago when I first moved to US! Congrats team! What's #1 topic? Housing? Dating?

@yurylifshits It's still a young community but a lot of people that have joined the community are looking for housing and people are definitely filling out our roommate matching survey. Now that more people are actually starting to move here after graduating I think events & hangouts are going to pick up a lot in the next couple weeks as well!

Hey! Really awesome idea! As a rising senior at USC, finding communities beyond college is something I've been thinking about a lot lately. What's the vision for the clubhouse, and what would so enticing about it to get me to pay the monthly fee? Also, I generally don't know too much about current options for new grad communities - do you know of any competitors out there or existing communities similar to your product? Can't wait to see where you guys go! :)

@teresaliu20 Thanks, Teresa! We're hoping the Clubhouse would be a space for recent graduates to hang out in the evenings, attend social events, and even work if they want. It's difficult making friends in a new city when there aren't consistent ways to reengage with your community –– we want to make this 100x easier. There aren't very many comparisons - maybe a recreation center or co-working space - but with a focus on social experiences for young professionals.

@teresaliu20 @adena_bauer1 Also, I think people *do* create solutions to find their community. But it can be really hard and take a lot of time! In college the opportunities to meet people and connect are abundant –– once everyone is "off to work" post-grad it takes a lot of intentionality around "getting out there" to have even some of those interactions after hours. And there's so many more tempting ways to spend time that are kind of isolating... Netflix makes infinite entertainment a click away and there's tons of studies showing the ways in which our ubiquitous digital connection is actually deepening our collective sense of loneliness (if we really needed the studies to spell that out in the first place). So I think part of the clubhouse is trying to figure out how can we reduce the "friction" to being in community spaces? Which is something college does really well!

Awesome!! Part of what makes a community great is how it cultivates a special culture, set of values, and identity. It’ll be interesting to see how this product navigates the question of ā€œdoes one size fit all?ā€ for new-grad metropolitan communities.
