#MadeUpCountry Challenge 🌍

by•

Hey PH community đź‘‹

We just launched the #MadeUpCountry Challenge on TravelAnimator.

The idea is simple:

The world map has always been drawn by wars, treaties, and political agreements made in rooms most people never entered. We thought, what if anyone could redraw it?

So we built exactly that.

How it works:

→ Open TravelAnimator

→ Search & add locations to create one new territory

→ Animate it into a video

→ Post on Instagram with #MadeUpCountry

→ Submit inside the app

The prize: Up to $1,000

Not a lucky draw. Earnings are based on your video’s views and reach.

Why such a challenge?

We kept seeing creators ask “what if” questions: what if the Soviet Union never collapsed, what if North and South Korea unified, what if two ancient rivals became one nation. The #MadeUpCountry Challenge is us going all in on that instinct.

Some combos already out there:

🗺️ Iraqan — Iran + Iraq (same ancient land, split by a brutal 8-year war)

🗺️ Indistan — India + Pakistan (same soil, divided in 1947)

🗺️ Chiwan — China + Taiwan (the world’s most watched territorial dispute)

We’d love to know from the PH community:

• What’s your MadeUpCountry?

• Would you enter a contest like this?

• Any feedback on the prize structure, does “earn by views” feel fair or gimmicky?

We’re reading every reply. Drop your combo below 👇

This reminds me of all late night what if geopolitical discussion . Turning them into shareable animations is a clever idea.

The word "Chiwan" genuinely made me laugh! Very innovative idea if I am really being honest.
Personally I would enter the contest. One thing that could make it even more interesting is what if the made up countries had a historical angle?
Like what if a famous political or historical figure was behind the merger? Even better what if you could combine specific regions and the countries.
For example, India + Tibet= Indibet, founded by Vallabhbhai Patel and the Dalai Lama. That kind of storytelling layer would make the videos so much more engaging and shareable.
