June Update: Feature Complete, Private Beta Next Week, and Fighting Subscription Fatigue
Hey Product Hunt community!
It’s been a great month of building for Transcendence, and I wanted to share a transparent look at our progress as we edge closer to our official App Store release.
June has been a masterclass in solo discipline. I set a personal goal to write code every single day this month. Some days it was a deep, multi-hour coding sessions and other days, it was a gruelling 20 minutes just to keep the momentum alive. Navigating a record-breaking UK heatwave that soared to 40°C heavily impacted my ME/CFS, turning simple daily tasks into a mountain to climb.
Despite the physical hurdles, progress moved forward. Here is where the product stands today:
Transcendence is officially Feature Complete!
I am incredibly proud to say that all core functionality for both the Free tier and Transcend+ features are 100% finished. Transcendence is no longer just an app in my imagination, it is a fully functioning, native iOS app for mantra-based meditation.
If I am being entirely honest, I’m still spending these final days tidying up the user interface. I’m still not totally happy with my attempts so far in creating a calm, beautiful, distraction-free environment for your practice, which is why I’ve held back on sharing video previews on social media just yet. I'm no designer, but trying to be perfect is the enemy of shipping, and I need real-world feedback to guide the final polish.
Our Beta & Launch Timeline
TestFlight Private Beta - Invites will begin rolling out in batches during the week starting 6th July (next week!).
Action Required - To any registered beta testers reading this, please ensure you have completed the verification form to secure your TestFlight slot.
The Big Day - We are officially targeting 25th August for our official App Store launch (dependent on Apple approvals), and also here on Product Hunt.
A Sneak Peek - Tidal Draft
While building out the web infrastructure for Code and Sea, I found myself relying on a standard SaaS utility tool that completely contradicted my anti-subscription philosophy. It felt hypocritical to rent a tool when I firmly believe independent software should be owned, not leased forever.
So, I started building my own alternative tool, I've named as Tidal Draft.
The domain is secured and it is a pure pay-as-you-go SaaS tool engineered specifically to help fellow indie developers with web design work without the subscription rental fatigue. I'm keeping the exact mechanics under wraps for now, but I will be fully revealing it in my July update.
Thank you so much to everyone who has followed the Transcendence journey so far. Your support keeps a solo creator going. If you haven't already, please hit that Notify Me button to stay tuned for our August launch!
Onwards to the beta next week,
Brent
