TipMe - Scan to tip via UPI & unlock loyalty rewards.

Cashless payments have reduced waitstaff tips. TipMe fixes this with a simple table QR code. Customers scan to tip waiters directly via UPI—no app needed. In return, they unlock digital loyalty stamps, helping restaurants build a repeating customer base. It is a win-win: waitstaff earn more, and owners boost retention. Built with a clean, minimalist design for modern dining!

Hi Product Hunt community! 👋 I am Muhammed (founder of TipMe) I am so excited to finally share TipMe with all of you today! What inspired us to build this? The idea for TipMe came from observing a very real, everyday problem. As digital payments (UPI) took over and we became a cashless society, I noticed a sad reality: hardworking waitstaff were losing out on their well-deserved tips simply because nobody carries cash anymore. At the exact same time, while speaking to restaurant owners, I realized they were constantly struggling with a different problem: building a loyal customer base and bringing people back without relying on expensive food aggregator apps. The Solution: I realized these two problems could actually solve each other. That’s how TipMe was born. We built a simple, distraction-free QR code system for restaurant tables: Scan & Tip: Customers scan the QR to tip their waiter directly via UPI (Zero friction, no app downloads required). Instant Loyalty: The moment they tip, the system instantly rewards them with a digital loyalty stamp from the restaurant (e.g., 10% off their next visit). It’s a complete win-win. Waitstaff get their cash directly, customers get rewarded for their generosity, and restaurant owners get an automated customer retention engine. We recently completed our initial pilot runs with a few restaurants, and the response has been incredibly humbling. But we know we have a long way to go! I would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions on our user flow and overall concept. I’ll be hanging out here all day to answer any questions you might have!

How does the split actually work if a server is only working a few tables during a shift, does the restaurant need to map staff to tables each day or does the customer pick who served them?

 we have both options

Customer can pick who served them

Thanks

How does TipMe handle the split when a table is served by multiple waitstaff, and is there any extra fee per transaction that restaurants need to factor in?

scanned the qr after dinner and the tip went through in like two seconds, super smooth. the loyalty stamp idea is a nice touch, would actually make me want to come back to the same spot.

One thing that would make me actually use this as a customer is letting me split a tip across the whole waitstaff team instead of just one person, since big tables rarely have a single server. That single change could also help restaurants handle tips more fairly and avoid disputes.

The QR scan flow is so quick that it actually made me tip more than I normally would. Love the loyalty stamps too, gives me a reason to go back.

The no-app UPI flow is such a smart call for India, where friction kills tip jars faster than anything else. Love that the loyalty stamps feel like a natural reward instead of a forced upsell.

The QR code flow is genuinely simple, I scanned and tipped in under ten seconds with no app download. Loyalty stamps built into the same screen feels smart for getting people back.

How does the split work if multiple waiters serve one table, and does the UPI tip go directly to their personal account or through the restaurant first?
