Tick Talk | Tick Tracker - Local tick reports and community discussion

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built this because tick season has become one of those everyday worries that is surprisingly hard to get clear, local information about. Most tick resources are either too broad, too clinical, or buried across government/public data sources. I wanted a simpler way for people to quickly see what’s happening around them, understand nearby activity, and contribute their own sightings in a way that helps the community. The goal is not to diagnose anything or replace medical advice. It’s to make local tick awareness more accessible, visual, and useful, especially for parents, hikers, dog owners, and anyone spending time outdoors. A few things I focused on: • A clean map-first experience • Community reports and discussion • Public observation data for added context • Clear source labeling so people understand what they’re seeing • Simple reporting from the field This started as a small local utility and turned into a bigger experiment around community-powered environmental awareness.
