2 Truths & a Lie - A boring team activity by Thursday: Truth or Lie?

Three statements. One of them is a lie.

1. 2 truths & a lie can only be played on a Thursday.
2. It is more fun to play 2 truths and a lie with my team than by myself.
3. There’s no sign-up, no installing, no ads.

Which one is it?

PH fam! 👋 I’m thrilled to launch 2 truths and a lie today. It is a brand new social activity (we call it a mixer) by Thursday (). It is the perfect team-building exercise for remote teams. In the summer of 2021, when we were onboarding and welcoming new hires in a remote setting, we played 2 truths & a lie on a zoom call over our first social (we used to call it chai time). It was a brilliant icebreaker. We got to know each other better. But we wished we could do this in a relaxed setting. Zoom just felt like work. And I had to drive everything. Without any prompts, there were awkward silences and long wait times. We just knew we had to build this the fun way on Thursday 💜. has done a wonderful job designing the experience, and with building it (in React and Go). 👏 We thoroughly enjoyed dogfooding this mixer ourselves. Interesting facts were discovered. Now I know who in my team is an excellent whistler, who has never broken a bone, who has visited over 20 states in India, who’s terrible at blowing balloons, and who falls asleep at work. 😎 Try it out with your team, and let me know what you think of it. Btw, just like with Thursday’s launch last year, this time as well, we built this public PH launch tracker to share our launch data (visitors, countries, browsers, etc.) with you: P.S. I’ll be here all day and will be happy to answer any questions.
This looks fun! 😆 Congrats Nishith and team!
Such a wonderful product for team activity. This will be lots of fun and ice breaking in between the teams. Kudos to the creators!
Hello PH! 👋 Deepa here, founder of Thursday. 2 truths & a lie is a great team building activity. What I love the most about it is, you discover such interesting things about your team members that would never come up in your regular work conversations. As a designer, it was an interesting challenge to recreate the experience of this seemingly simple icebreaker in a virtual medium. It was fun breaking out of the grid and designing a lively environment. Here's our take on a simple activity of 2 truths & a lie. What do you think?
Team Engagement is a much needed exercise in these WFH times. This seems like a really fun game. Will definitely try it out!
Yes! Would love know how it goes.
Hi! I have tried it out, and I have to say that it is so cool! It's a great tool for a fun time with family or your team. Thank you for the reactions, live chat, and no signup. Love it. Do you plan to add other games? Have you considered building a platform for retrospectives with a variety of games?
Wow! Thanks a lot. Yes, we have many more mixers coming up.
Will be waiting for them
This made our day! What other activities would you like to see on Thursday?
Although I can;t hold a poker face for long but this is too fun to be true 😂 A must have for all remote teams!!!
Thank you Nick, we built this mixer keeping in mind remote teams! Trust me, you get better with time holding the poker face. 😶😆
This looks like a great way to bond friends and colleagues, a visual interpretation of a super popular game. I like how it's easy to navigate yourself across the app.
Thanks!! It was surely a challenge to design 2 truths & a lie. It had to be simple.
Perfect game for our remote team to stay connected with each other! Awesome job!
Thanks. We are a remote team as well and it is very important to connect with fellow teammates. Working in isolation is no fun.
Cool app! Upvote for your great work.
Thanks a lot!
Congratulations on the launch! App looks very cool, I will try it :)
Thanks! Would love to know how it went.
This looks like fun! I love the smooth design, you rock!
Thanks for the compliment!
