Since the last launch, Thoth shipped three major versions: New engines: Parakeet TDT v3 (batch + live, 25 languages, 90x batch speed), Parakeet EOU (live English, millisecond latency), and Apple Speech (live + batch, multilingual, near-EOU speed). All local. New AI: AI Chat on any recording, Apple Intelligence (no API key), Groq, and private server support (Ollama, LM Studio). New UX: Menu Bar mode, auto meeting detection for Zoom/Teams/Slack, French localization, sort recordings into folders.

Hey PH! I'm Matthieu, a laser physicist working on high-power laser systems in Bordeaux. Every meeting notes app I tried uploaded my audio to American servers. Given the power of apple silicon chips and the quality of local transcription models, that bothered me enough to build an alternative. Thoth records and transcribes entirely on your Apple Silicon chip. I demo it with Wi-Fi turned off. You can get summaries & action items using local AI models. If you want the power of cloud AI, you can bring your own API key and the call goes directly from your Mac to the provider. No proxy, no Thoth server in the middle, ever. Since the first launch, three major versions shipped. The biggest additions: - Parakeet EOU for truly live English transcription (utterance detection in milliseconds), - Parakeet TDT for a multilingual alternative to whisper - Apple speech analyzer for EOU performance with support for several languages - Apple Intelligence for fully on-device summaries, without model download - Menu Bar mode that keeps Thoth out of your way until you need it. Happy to answer questions about the on-device stack, how Parakeet EOU compares to Whisper for live transcription, or anything else. Thanks for the support on the first launch!

Private AI meeting notes for Mac with no cloud is the right call. People are finally waking up to how much of their conversations are getting processed by thirdparty servers without them knowing. If only you could download cool software lasers over the internet

@the_beagle Thanks :-) Sadly the lasers still need a loading dock; a three-phase power supply safety googles and a PhD to operate.
