Hello everyone, I am a private investor in Europe, engineer by training, and I sell options on a single IBKR account. Over the years I tried several journals, commercial ones and my own spreadsheets, and none of them made me happy. The import did not survive contact with a real IBKR history, or the numbers were not the ones I wanted, or keeping it current was more work than it was worth. What fails is always the same: an assignment recorded as a normal purchase, an expiration that disappears instead of closing the position, a split that leaves the cost basis wrong. And most portfolio curves treat a deposit as performance. So I built ThetaForge. It reads from Interactive Brokers via Flex Query, read only, calculates time-weighted as an asset manager has to report it, and tags every position with a strategy, so you can see what the covered calls did against what the spreads did. It runs on your own machine and your data never leaves it. No subscription, no signals, no order routing. Since I use it, journaling takes me less than five minutes a day. Regards, westkontor PS. IBKR is the broker I use, so it is the one that is complete. There is a documented import interface, so another broker is one importer.
