I'm Brandon. By day I run operations at DeltaV Digital, and this is my first app launch. What inspired it: I travel a fair amount, and in hotel rooms I always reach for white noise to sleep. Every app I tried had the same problems: ads, subscriptions, and pre-recorded audio that loops with a tiny hiccup you can't unhear at 2am. I wanted something that just made good, steady noise and got out of the way. The approach: instead of playing a recording, The White Noise Generator creates the sound live using only your iPhone's hardware. No loop means no seam. From there I kept it to one screen: slide between white, pink, and brown noise, soften the tone until it sounds like a fan in the next room, and set a sleep timer that fades out instead of cutting off. No ads, no account, no tracking, and it never connects to the internet. How the process evolved: I've started apps before and never shipped one. The code wasn't the wall. It was everything around it: testing on real devices, certificates, screenshots, privacy disclosures, and App Store review. That list always outgrew my free time. This time I built it with Claude Code, and instead of learning everything up front, I worked through each step as I hit it. That's the only reason this one made it out the door.
