TelemetryDeck - Lightweight analytics that's not evil

Hi I'm Daniel! I worked at various privacy-conscious companies such as @getkeepsafe and @cliqz because I love creating cool things without selling out users' personal data. After going indie, I wanted to know how my apps were doing – how many users do they have, what are the retention numbers, which kinds of features do people use? Every app maker today has to make this off-putting choice: Use the free analytics tools that greedily slurp in every last bit of user data they can get to. Or use expensive, hard-to use products that need a whole data science division to use properly. I teamed up with my amazing friend @meet_lisa and we're setting out to change that. We're offering easy to use, light-weight analytics that are private by design. We have open-source packages for the major platforms that you drop in and start sending completely anonymised analytics signals in real time. And we provide a comprehensive set of prepared insights over your data, plus the option to freely query your data yourself. Privacy is super important by itself, but this also has a net benefit: You don't need to throw up a banner asking for permission to share users' private data if you never upload that anywhere to begin with. I started using TelemetryDeck in my app !solar-watch about two weeks ago. I'm super happy with it so far and excited about where Daniel and Lisa will take it to!

Huge fan of what Telemetry Deck are building! I use it in all my apps (Word Game Hero is the latest on Product Hunt) as a way to get privacy friendly analytics. I was using Amplitude previously but support the privacy friendly mission at TelemetryDeck. The free tier is very generous, pricing is super reasonable and the team offer fantastic and responsive support. On top of support I've found the team super willing to engage with the community on feature requests and discussion on the products roadmap.

?makers Congratulations on the launch. So if I understand correctly, it's doing the same job as Amplitude (we're using it for our app). What's the main difference between TelemetryDeck and Amplitude?

I've been using Telemetry Deck for about 2 months in my app Pestle Kitchen Companion and have been so happy with it. To be able to collect really useful information about how people use my app without having to compromise user privacy is awesome.

Telemetry Deck has been integrated into all my apps. It feels great to be able to collect privacy focused analytics that help me improve the parts of my apps that users care about the most. I have also been using Telemetry Deck to improve app conversions by gaining insights on what pro features users care about the most!
