Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Tuan — a developer who built Task Tracker, and I want to be upfront about why. **It started with frustration, not a business plan.** I tried almost every task and to-do app out there. They all started the same way: free to install, clean interface, promising. Then came the reality — ads everywhere, mandatory account sign-ups, marketing emails flooding my inbox, and a wall of features I never asked for: calendars, time tracking, habit streaks, integrations... all bundled into an app I just wanted to use to write down "submit assignment by Friday." Worse, the moment you actually want to use it properly? Pay up. **So I built the opposite.** No ads. No account required. No emails. No upsells. Everything stays on your device — managed by you, accessed by you, with zero outside interference. Just open the app, write your tasks, get them done. **"But how do you make money?"** — I know that's the first question. Honestly? I don't, from this app. I have other income sources, and I genuinely believe the world needs more tools that are just... good and free. I use apps too. I know how it feels to want something simple without being nickel-and-dimed for it. **"What about data backup without an account?"** Fair point — and yes, optional account sync is on the roadmap. When it comes, I promise: no marketing emails, no data selling, no surprises. But right now, in this early stage, your data lives entirely on your phone. That's a feature, not a limitation. This is my first app in production. Built it myself, shipped it myself, and I'm here to learn from real users. If you've ever felt like productivity apps are designed to sell you more than help you — this one was made for you. 🙏
