Why we decided to build an AI that proactively understands how you work

Most AI today waits...

You open a chat window, explain your problem, copy and paste context, and hope the model has enough information to help.

We kept asking ourselves:

What if AI already understood what you were trying to accomplish?

That question became Tandem.

Instead of waiting for prompts, Tandem monitors your workflow and can step in when it’s actually helpful.

We’re building toward an AI teammate that can:

• 👀 Understand what you’re working on

• 🧠 Maintain context across tasks and applications

• ⚡ Complete multi-step workflows on your behalf

• 🤝 Work alongside you instead of interrupting you

• 📱 Do it all Remotely

Of course, that raises a lot of interesting questions.

• How proactive should an AI be?

• How much context does it really need?

• When should it stay quiet instead of jumping in?

Those are the problems we’re excited to solve, and we’d love to build them with this community.
