Everything since launch β€” thank you for making it #3 πŸ†πŸΎ

byβ€’

A few days ago Tamamon launched here and you made it #3 Product of the Day. Thank you β€” genuinely. It's a tiny pixel pet that lives on your desktop and grows as you code with Claude Code, and since launch it's had ~30 updates β€” almost every one straight from a comment in this thread. Here's what's new, and who it came from.

🏑 Your pet moved into a home β€” and the home builds itself as you code

At launch it just wandered your desktop. Now, as you code, an empty patch of grass fills in one warm thing at a time: a flower, a stone by the path, a cottage when your egg hatches, a pond, lanterns, a hearth glowing at the center. Nothing is random β€” every object is earned by real growth and placed by hand, and once it's there it stays. There's a cozy isometric room to step into, day/night and seasons (a snowman visits in winter), and you can drag anything to rearrange it.

✨ Meet the Warmthfolk β€” now 50 to collect

So many of you asked "what ARE these creatures?" They're the Warmthfolk: a little spirit that borrows the nearest cozy shape to be near you β€” a mug, a cloud, a sleepy pup, a deep-sea narwhal. One soul, many cozy coats. There were 20 at launch; there are 50 now, each with its own field-guide line in four languages, fully animated across every stage. Export/import your whole collection between machines anytime (thanks Leopold & Prashant πŸ’œ).

🌱 Growth you can see β€” and now, growth that's earned

The feedback I've thought about most: several of you (Florent, David, Art, Ziang, Luki) said growth should feel earned, not just raw token count. So β€” there's a growth bar now; the first hatch adapts to your own pace so lighter users don't wait weeks (thanks John); and as of today, your pet notices the hard days β€” after a genuinely tough session (maxed-out context, a long stretch of real work, a big pile of code changed) it gives you a quiet, warm nod: "that was a rough one… you pushed right through 🌿". It reads effort, not idle time, never nags, and reads only signals already on your Mac.

πŸ“Š Real usage that just works β€” in your language, and finally reliable

Tamamon shows your actual Claude usage (current + weekly) from your own Claude Code login β€” only the numbers, never your code or conversations, and nothing leaves your Mac. It's fully localized (EN / ζ—₯本θͺž / EspaΓ±ol), and the "Can't load usage" some of you hit is fixed properly: an opt-in relay that reads the numbers Claude Code already computes, no network, no keychain, your settings touched only with consent and restored byte-for-byte on disconnect.

πŸ’œ You asked, we listened

Adaptive hatch (John), earned-growth nudges (Florent, David, Art, Ziang, Luki), export/import (Leopold, Prashant), clearer growth + messaging (Nuriye, Şerafettin, Brandon, Yakup), easier quit + a cleaner goodbye (Mohammad Faisal). And the things you told me to protect β€” the rain that sends your pet home, local-only with no account, the fact that it's happily useless β€” those aren't going anywhere.

Still on my list: a one-click "share my Tamamon" card, the deeper earned-growth design, and a few more Warmthfolk. If there's something you wish it did, this thread is still the best place to say so. 🐾

Nice work! I can only hope to achieve similar traction... I'll be checking back frequently to see any updates.

Β Thank you Phillip! πŸ™ Honestly a lot of it was just showing up in this thread every day and building what people asked for. Wishing you the same β€” I'll be rooting for your launch too.

this is really cool

 Thank you, Pieter! 🐾

Great to see all the updates coming through and how responsive you have been around the launch, kudos.

Β Thank you John! 🐾 This thread makes it easy to stay responsive β€” you all keep giving me the good stuff to build.

Really good work! Seems Tamamons is going to work for all sorts of coders/builders (including those of us who still try to write some code by hand :P) and I'm here for it!
