I built Takeout Rescue after realizing that fixing a Google Photos export is more than copying dates from JSON files.Large exports are split across ZIPs, albums create duplicates, and photos and videos store metadata differently. What started as a small metadata fixer became a local repair workflow. It keeps the original ZIPs untouched, creates a separate output, verifies metadata after writing, and reports anything it cannot safely fix. I’d love feedback from anyone who has dealt with a messy Google Takeout library.
