Tadak - Your Personal White Noise Player

by
Tadak is not just another white noise app with fixed loops. Users can layer sounds, place them in 3D space, and design their own soundscape. Built with Apple’s PHASE framework, it delivers spatial audio that reacts to distance and direction. To reduce fatigue, Tadak uses a fractal-based algorithm to avoid repetitive loops, plus a noise color equalizer that reshapes frequency characteristics. Tadak transforms passive noise into a customizable, immersive experience.

When we started building Tadak, we noticed something interesting: millions of people search for white noise on YouTube every day, yet most of the top results are just long, repetitive loops. People use them to focus, sleep, or calm their minds — but in the comments, we kept seeing the same frustrations: “I wish I could remove this one sound,” “This loop feels too repetitive,” “The high pitch is distracting.” That’s where Tadak began. We asked ourselves: what if white noise wasn’t a fixed audio file, but a designable sound environment? Instead of shipping static presets, we built a system where users can layer sounds, position them in 3D space, and reshape their frequency characteristics. Along the way, we realized repetition was a major source of fatigue, so we implemented a fractal-based playback algorithm to avoid artificial looping patterns. We also moved beyond traditional EQ controls and designed a noise color–based spectrum reconstruction approach to let users adjust the texture of sound itself. What started as a simple “better white noise app” evolved into something more ambitious: a tool that gives people control over their own immersive soundscape. We’re excited (and a little nervous) to share Tadak with the Product Hunt community. We’d genuinely love your feedback.
