When AI becomes the buyer, attention stops being the bottomneck

by

Hi PH! I am among many founders who are worried about how their products can stand out among hundreds of other AI tools. As a result, I can see my priority divided between creating value to generating exposure and capturing attention, ie. making things feels better, etc.

That makes total sense, but it rests on a hidden assumption: humans will continue to make every purchasing decision, and human attention will remain scarce.

Now imagine that an AI agent becomes the customer, or makes purchasing decisions on the customer’s behalf. The attention problem changes completely. In that world, products may compete less for attention and more on actual value and measurable outcomes.

I do not know how quickly this future will arrive. But believing that AI will eventually play a major role in purchasing decisions makes me less concerned about fighting for attention—and more focused on building something that deserves to be selected.

Btw I am launching Synthetic PM this week, a UX survey tool. Thanks for your attention as I still need them :)
