I've spent 7 years in sales trying every outreach method possible — cold calls, LinkedIn DMs, cold emails, you name it. Rejections are the order of the day. Buyers hate cold calls so you're either going to voicemail or getting hung up on. Emails go to spam. LinkedIn messages go unanswered or worse *BLOCKED*. Imagine doing over a thousand outreaches a month and only getting a 3-5% meeting rate. The problem isn't personalization or better copy. It's timing. If a buyer isn't actively looking, even the best outreach won't work. And right now sellers have no reliable way to know who is actually in market. Except of course intent signals, that are quite frankly vague and unhelpful. So I stopped complaining and started building. The process evolved a lot. I initially thought this was a seller-side problem — give SDRs better signals. But the more I talked to buyers, the more I realized they're equally frustrated. They're drowning in unsolicited outreach for tools they don't need and never asked about. That's when the idea flipped. What if buyers could share what they need on their own terms anonymously, without being bombarded? And sellers only reach out when there's a genuine match? That insight became Switchd. A platform where buyers post what they're evaluating, their current tool, budget and timeline. Sellers browse real leads and connect only when it's a fit. Buyers stay in control the entire time. It's early days but the core belief is simple. The future of B2B sales isn't better signals or intents. It's better alignment.
