Switchboard turns your phone into a control deck for your PC over local Wi-Fi. Change real monitor brightness through DDC/CI, mix volume per app without alt-tabbing out of a game, control media playback, and send files both ways. Pair by scanning a QR code. There are no accounts and no cloud servers, and everything is end-to-end encrypted. Desktop app for Windows, Linux and macOS, Android app in Kotlin.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Ayaan, the maker of Switchboard.
I built it because of three small annoyances that kept adding up. My external monitors have stiff buttons buried behind an on-screen menu, and software dimmers only tint the screen gray instead of lowering the backlight. In games, a friend on Discord would be too loud or Chrome would be playing music, and I had to tab out to find the volume mixer. And getting one photo or document between my phone and PC meant emailing it to myself or dropping it in a Discord DM.
Switchboard covers all three from one app on your phone. It talks to your PC directly over your local network, using DDC/CI for real monitor control. Pairing is a QR scan with no account, and traffic is end-to-end encrypted with X25519. You can pair several PCs and switch between them, and you can forget any of them at any time.
It's still in active development. The core features work on Windows and Android, and the Linux and macOS desktop builds are still catching up. It's MIT licensed, so the code is open for anyone to read.
