Hey Product Hunt! and I built Sutra to empower the thousands of instructors who lost their jobs due to the pandemic. As a yoga instructor myself for 3+ years, I made $15.50 teaching a yoga studio in LA. Our instructors make that from 1 booking on Sutra. Sutra builds the technology for you to take classes with real people who shout-out your name, know your birthday and tell you what their living room smells like. We're building tools so instructors can build their own brand and community without direct affiliation with a big box studio or gym. Are you planning on going back to the gym when things open up or would you rather take a live class with your favorite instructor at home?

Our largest asset is our community of instructors as the majority of new clients come from a referral. The fitness community is super close-knit, they're always taking each other's classes and promoting each other's brands. We require every instructor to have a group fitness certification -- this is part of the on-boarding process. We stand by our instructors and ensure they know how to run a biomechanically safe workout 💪

Yes absolutely! We're helping instructors launch their new businesses every day. Lots of them come in with questions about how to price their offerings, whether that's offering class packs for livestreamed workouts or memberships for on-demand content. We work with instructors one-on-one to develop a business model that makes sense for their brand. We have data on what's working based on their modality and social following.
