Are you getting enough sun? Suncheck allows you to record and archive your sunlight intake. Build healthy habits by learning how much solar energy you are getting!
What started as a Hackathon project ended up as a real app on the app store! I was the only developer in the team along with two amazing ui/ux designers, and we were able to prototype the app and launch the app in less than three weeks.
Since this is our first time launching an app, we would love to get any comments / suggestions / ideas on how to improve this app!!
@soheekim Simple idea and awesome execution. Great way to launch. Kudos! As a bug, on smaller form factor iPhone 6s the screen image with texts are cropped. You might want to add a different resolution image for smaller form factors.
For all of us up North in the winter this is a great idea. Have you thought of partnering with light therapy companies? Sure you have but that's where my thought went immediately. Good luck on your PH launch. @soheekim
@cory_crapes Hi Cory, That's a great idea! We have thought about partnering with light therapy services, but haven't really gone through the details yet. Hope we figure something out soon. Thank you!

It might be interesting to flip this idea as well for those getting too much sun! I was having a conversation with a friend yesterday. She was telling me her Grandpa had worked out in the sun his whole life and his doctors are now ordering him to get less sun due to the risk of skin cancer. He doesn't like to take reminders from his family though as it feels condescending maybe an app like this would be perfect?
I think positioning it as a weather app that encourages going out and enjoying the sun would be a better fit. There's just something for me personally that doesn't stick for an app to track my sun intake. I guess too many tracking apps already?
I really like the first screen you posted, for that I think the focus is ON the weather outside and then tracking supports it as a core feature. But not the opposite way round.
(Of course its just a personal opinion!)
@thisisjad Yes, Actually that's what we want to do as well -- encouraging people to go out and enjoy the sun! The app is closer to archiving than tracking one's behavior. We will clarify with using the term. Thanks for your feedback!!
