Phone, film or flash: how to choose a finish for an AI image
I'm the maker of SugarCube. Here is a practical way to choose a photographic finish when you already have an AI image. The finish names describe a direction for generation, not a promise that every detail will stay unchanged.
Start with the job:
• For a natural everyday portrait, try iPhone 13 Camera. The brief emphasizes natural light and shadow, sharpness and digital texture.
• For grain and nostalgic color, try Film Camera. This is a deliberate style choice, not a more accurate version of the original.
• For stronger shadows and a flash-lit atmosphere, try Night Flash under “More photographic looks.” Avoid this when soft, even lighting is essential.
Then choose how much reinterpretation you can accept. Under “More options,” “Keep the original” asks for gentler changes; “Emphasize the finish” allows stronger lighting and rendering. Neither setting guarantees identity, text or product-shape fidelity.
Use the notes field for one or two concrete priorities. Example brief, not a demonstrated result: “Keep the jacket color and face shape; soften the plastic-looking skin.” Inspect those details before downloading. If a logo, exact lettering or accurate product geometry is essential, reject any result that changes it; this tool is not a lossless repair workflow.
Keep the same input while comparing finishes, and change one setting at a time. Each enhancement currently costs 60 credits, so three successful enhancements use 180 credits. Review the displayed cost before generating. Eligible new accounts can combine 30 signup credits with a manual 30-credit daily claim for one enhancement at the current cost. Limited daily claims can continue; paid plans are optional, and monthly subscriptions renew and have credit-expiry terms shown before checkout.
