How are you thinking about credential portability for learners?
We built Student Center around a simple belief:
>>>> Learners should own their credentials permanently, not rent them from an institution.
Every credential issued on Student Center is a W3C VC 2.0 compliant NFT on Base — meaning the learner holds it in their own wallet, it's verifiable by anyone forever, and no one can revoke or forge it.
We're seeing this matter most in three scenarios:
1. Bootcamp grads applying to jobs where the school no longer exists
2. Corporate training programs where employees leave and lose access to their records
3. Professional certifications that need to be verified across borders (huge with the EU's EUDI wallet mandate coming)
Curious what others are seeing — is credential portability something your users/learners are asking for? And what's stopping institutions from issuing on-chain credentials today?
Happy to share what we've learned from our first institutions. 🎓
