Stella is your emotional wellness AI: a friend to figure it out with. Tell Stella what happened. Even the part you're still figuring out. Speak or text about what stayed with you. Explore another perspective, find words for a conversation or choose a small step when you're ready. Talk it through by voice in the iOS app, or by text in iMessage with Text Stella. Free to download; a subscription is required to keep using it. Stella is not therapy and is not a substitute for professional care.

Hey Product Hunt, I'm Max, the technical founder of Stella. Stella is your emotional wellness AI, a friend to figure it out with. You tell her what happened, by voice in the iPhone app or by text in iMessage, and she helps you explore another perspective, find the words for a conversation or choose a small step when you're ready. Why I'm building it: Stella is named after my mother. Hard moments don't wait for business hours. They show up at 2am, in the parking lot before a meeting, in the spiral that won't stop, and a lot of what people carry never makes it to anyone because it feels too small or you've already been "that friend" too many times. Stella is somewhere to start talking. For everyone fighting battles no one else can see. Two ways in: • iPhone app, voice or text: • Text Stella in iMessage, no install: asks a few questions, including what happened in your own words, then writes your first text for you. On iPhone or Mac it opens Messages with the text ready. The story behind the name: The app is free to download; a subscription is required to keep using it ($9.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US). What I'd love your take on: would you start by texting an AI from a website, or does an app feel more trustworthy for something this personal? Stella is not therapy and is not a substitute for professional care.

Voice in the app and text in iMessage give people two very different ways to start talking. I can see the appeal of keeping that first step familiar.
