👋 Hi Product Hunt! I'm Matan, the maker of Stage. The idea started with a simple question: Why should performers be limited by physical venues? Stage lets creators perform live for audiences anywhere in the world. Whether it's stand-up comedy, music, talks, or other live shows, the goal is to make hosting and attending virtual events simple and engaging. This is an early version, and I'd genuinely love your feedback. Every comment helps shape what Stage becomes next. Thanks for checking it out! ❤️

Curious how the ticketing and revenue split actually work for creators here. Does Stage take a cut on top of whatever the platform charges, or is it just a flat fee per ticket sold?

Thanks! We’re still refining the monetization model, so the exact revenue split hasn’t been finalized yet. Our goal is to make it as fair as possible for creators while keeping the platform sustainable. Really appreciate you asking!

How does the ticketing system split revenue between creators and the platform, and are there any restrictions on the types of performances you can host?

Thanks for the great question! The revenue split is still being refined as Stage evolves. The goal is to keep it creator-friendly while making the platform sustainable. As for performances, the vision is to support everything from music and stand-up to DJs, talks, and other live shows, as long as they follow our community guidelines.

How does the ticket split actually work between creators and Stage once fees are taken out?

Great question! The exact ticket revenue split is still being finalized as we’re in the early stages. Our priority is building a model that’s transparent and creator-friendly while ensuring the platform can grow sustainably. Thanks for bringing it up!

Really cool idea, the world needs more ways for performers to connect without needing a venue. One thing that would help me as a viewer is a watch party feature, where friends can join a private virtual room to enjoy a show together, with synced playback and a small chat. It would make the experience feel way more social and give creators another reason to promote to groups.

Thank you! I really like the watch party idea. A private room where friends can watch together and chat would make the experience feel much more social. I’ve added it to my list of ideas to explore. Really appreciate the suggestion! 🙌

How does Stage handle the technical side of things for performers with average internet setups, like managing latency or stream quality without requiring fancy gear?

Thanks! Great question. Our goal is to make Stage accessible without requiring expensive equipment or a professional studio. We’re building the experience around adaptive streaming, so video quality can adjust automatically based on the performer’s connection to keep the stream stable. A creator should be able to go live with just a phone or laptop and a decent internet connection. As Stage evolves, we’ll continue improving latency, quality, and creator tools to make live performances as simple as possible. Really appreciate you bringing this up!

Love how the ticket flow stays out of the way on stage. Feels like the team focused on the performance first and the platform second.

Thank you! That was one of our biggest goals. We wanted the technology to stay in the background so the performance stays at the center of the experience. Really appreciate you noticing that. 🙏

Caught a small comedy set on here last night and the chat reactions actually made it feel like being in a real room, way more than I expected for a browser tab.

Thank you! That means a lot. That's exactly the feeling we're trying to create—not just watching a performance, but feeling like you're actually there with everyone else. We're just getting started. 🙌

How does the platform handle ticket revenue splits between hosts and collaborators, and are there built-in tipping or merch features for the artists?

Great question. Right now, ticket revenue goes directly to the event host. Revenue splits, tipping, and merch tools are all on our roadmap because we want creators to have multiple ways to earn through Stage, not just ticket sales. Thanks for bringing it up! 🙌

Tried hosting a small comedy set on Stage last night and the ticketing setup was genuinely painless, took maybe two minutes. Nice to see a live platform that doesn't make you feel like you're wrestling with the interface while you're trying to perform.

Thank you! One of our core goals is removing all the friction between a creator and their audience. If someone has talent, they should be able to go live, sell tickets, and perform within minutes. Really glad that came through in your experience. 🙌
