The platform features a 3-layer fact-checking system that combines AI moderation via Mistral, community verification with 14 criteria, and AI-powered source checking. Messaging is end-to-end encrypted and ephemeral. No data selling, no attention-exploitation business model. Available in FR, EN, DE, SP and PT.

Hey everyone! I'm Jason, the solo developer behind Spray Social. I started this project about 11 months ago from my apartment, near Paris. The trigger was simple: every time I saw European politicians and commentators complain about US platforms, the conversation always ended with "but we don't have alternatives." I wanted to prove that was wrong, that one person with the right motivation could actually build something real. The process evolved a lot along the way. I started with a basic feed and auth system, then realized that to be a genuine alternative, I needed to solve the hard problems: content verification, encrypted messaging, moderation that actually works. That led me to build a 3-layer fact-checking system using Mistral AI, community verification with 14 criteria, and source checking. I migrated everything from US cloud providers to OVHcloud in France to be fully sovereign, which was a whole adventure in itself. What I'm most proud of is that this isn't a pitch deck or a beta waitlist. It's live, on the App Store and Google Play, right now.
