Spoth - Drop photo trails on a map — they vanish after a while

by
Spoth lets you drop "trails" — photos of where you are right now — on a shared map. They expire, so it's always live, never a highlight reel. Explore trails worldwide, find real people, and see who viewed yours.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm a solo dev and Spoth started from a simple frustration: social feeds show a polished, outdated version of where people are. I wanted something that lives in the *now*. So in Spoth you drop a "trail" — a photo of where you are right now — onto a map. The twist: trails expire. No permanent feed, no curation, just what's actually happening around you. What's in this version: 🗺️ Explore trails anywhere in the world 🔍 Find and follow real people 👀 See who viewed your trail (premium) Built with React Native + MapLibre, with a NestJS backend — all solo. It's early and I'm hungry for feedback: does the "ephemeral location" idea click for you? What would make it a daily app? Thanks for checking it out 🙏

The expiring trails idea makes the map feel more alive than a normal social feed. It’s interesting to see places through what’s happening right now instead of polished posts from weeks ago.
