SpendMita Copilot is live!

I'm the solo builder behind SpendMita Copilot. My background is computer science and data science, I have an MSc in Data Science from York St John University, and I've worked as an analyst at Carwow and Mbiller, plus volunteered as a data scientist at Tiiqu. This is the first product I've built and launched on my own.

The idea came from a real gap. Fakespot shut down in 2025 and left about 10 million people without a way to check if reviews on a product are real. At the same time Shein and Temu have flooded online shopping with products propped up by fake or incentivized reviews, so the problem is bigger than just Amazon now.

SpendMita Copilot is a free Chrome extension that checks two things before you buy on Amazon. First, whether the reviews actually look real, using signals like verified purchase ratio, whether reviews cluster in date bursts, and how many reviews sit stuck at 5 stars or 1 star. Second, whether the purchase actually fits your own budget and the reason you're buying it, not just whether it looks like a good deal.

Here's a live example, not a demo. I found a listing today where only 17 percent of reviews are verified purchases and 83 percent are written in a different language than the storefront. Both are classic signs of manipulated reviews, and SpendMita Copilot flags this the moment you land on the page, no extra clicks needed.

Everything the free tier does runs right in your browser, nothing gets sent to a server, so it costs me almost nothing to keep it free for good. Pro adds an AI layer that reasons over the reviews and your own past decisions, and that's the only part expensive enough to charge for.
