This is such a smart approach to teaching cooking. Is the app tailored for beginners or does it also cater to those with more advanced skills?
@daniel_evans14 Great question 🙌 At its core, SousChef is designed for people who don’t particularly enjoy cooking new recipes — research shows that’s about 54% of the population. For them, the real-time Cookalong UX takes away the hassle and makes cooking doable.
That said, it’s also a great fit for beginners, and we already have ideas to support people with more experience too — making even more complex dishes easier to prepare.
But in the end, everyone benefits from a smooth experience. Cooking — like most things — is simply more enjoyable when you can focus on the fun parts, without unnecessary friction getting in the way.
De app werkt uitstekend. Koken wordt zelfs voor mij lekker makkelijk. De pad Thai is mijn favoriet!
@jurrian_hartdorff Wat leuk om te horen 🙌 De Pad Thai is ook één van de populairste recepten in de app. Normaal best een lastig gerecht, maar met SousChef wordt het stap voor stap toch makkelijk én lekker 💛

Perfect if you would love to cook, but are new to the activity (kids/students/etc.).
@martijn_van_dijk You’re absolutely right 🙌 SousChef is perfect for beginners — but equally for people who just want to put a new dish on the table without too much thinking. That’s exactly what we learned in our research: cooking new recipes often feels overwhelming or like too much hassle.
We used those insights to design the UX and ran lots of user tests to refine it. The result is an interface that gives confidence, removes friction, and makes cooking feel easy and fun 💛
