Finding Buy Signals in Frustrated Customers Who Are Already Trying to Leave
The clearest buy signal is someone asking "what else is out there?" while their renewal clock is ticking.
I saw a small web agency owner (S-corp, been a paying customer for a decade) get so burned by a broken insurance portal and dead support line that they went public asking for alternatives. That's not a complaint. That's a person with a credit card out, actively churning, telling you exactly what the incumbent failed at.
The interesting part isn't insurance. It's that boring, sticky categories like professional liability coverage for tiny agencies are full of frustrated customers nobody's building for, because the market looks unglamorous from the outside.
Those threads are where a lot of good micro SaaS ideas actually hide. The problem is real, the urgency is real, and the switching intent is already there.
That's the kind of signal I built SoloVault to surface and turn into something you can actually build.
Where do you go looking for people who are already trying to leave a product?
