Snotch is a free, open-source AI teleprompter for Mac that keeps your notes next to your camera so you can speak naturally without breaking eye contact. Your script scrolls with your voice, removing the need for manual control and helping you stay focused while speaking. It stays invisible during screen sharing and fits neatly into the notch, so it never gets in the way. Customise how your notes look and use them for meetings, demos, or recording. Simple, fast, and built to feel natural.

I built Snotch because I kept struggling with sounding natural on camera. Every time I had a script, it either looked obvious that I was reading or I’d lose my place mid-sentence. Most teleprompters didn’t solve this properly. They rely on manual scrolling or fixed speeds, which never match how you actually speak. It ends up feeling forced. Snotch takes a different approach. It listens to your voice and scrolls with you, so you can just focus on speaking. Putting it in the notch also came from a simple idea: keep your script as close to the camera as possible so eye contact feels real. A big part of building this was getting the scrolling to feel right. Not too fast, not lagging, and not distracting. That took the most iterations. I also added features like script importing, AI generation, and quick editing directly from the overlay to make it actually usable day-to-day, not just a demo tool.
