Hi Product Hunt, I'm Antony. I run PSDgator, a small WordPress studio in Thessaloniki, Greece.

My clients always wanted something like that. Snipfire is a code-snippets plugin for WordPress. You add PHP, CSS, JavaScript and HTML from a real code editor instead of editing theme files, and choose exactly where each snippet runs.

What's different:

  • Safety first. Code is checked before it's saved, your site is test-loaded when you switch a snippet on, and a snippet that errors later is switched off automatically, with the exact line shown. Safe mode always gets you back in.

  • Fast. Snippets are plain files with one cached index, so loading them takes zero database queries.

  • Easy to switch. It imports from WPCode, Code Snippets, FluentSnippets and 4 more, switched off until you're ready, and your old shortcodes keep working.

  • An editor that knows WordPress. Type add_action, pick a hook, and the callback is written for you.

Free vs paid: the free plugin has the full editor, crash protection, every importer, a library of 258 ready-made snippets, WP-CLI and the REST API, on as many sites as you like. Pro ($39/yr for one site, $79/yr unlimited) adds SCSS/LESS, scripts that wait for cookie consent, testing mode with preview links, the visual hook finder, scheduled snippets, team access and more. Agency ($149/yr) adds Git sync and a hub for client sites, with a 14-day trial and no card. For launch, a lifetime licence is $199 for the first 200 buyers.

One honest note: no longer accepts new plugins that run custom code, so Snipfire comes from . Every release is signed, and the plugin checks the signature itself before it installs an update.

You can try it in your browser first (WordPress Playground, no sign-up):

I'd love to hear what you'd want from a snippet plugin, and what would stop you from switching. I'm here all day to answer.
