SnapIndex - Capture screenshots, extract text, find anything later

by
SnapIndex is a complete screenshot and scrollshot tool for Chrome. Capture pages, run OCR, search inside saved screenshots, annotate images, create click sequences, and export searchable PDFs. It turns your captures into a searchable visual memory instead of dead files in folders.

Hey Product Hunt, I built SnapIndex because screenshots are easy to take, but annoying to use later. Today, the usual workaround is messy: • save screenshots into random folders • rename files manually • paste images into Notion, Docs, or Slack • add arrows and notes in another tool • retake screenshots when you cannot find the original • document flows by capturing one screen at a time SnapIndex is built for what happens after the screenshot. It lets you capture screenshots and scrollshots, run OCR, search inside saved captures, annotate important details, document click sequences, and export searchable PDFs. The part I care about most is retrieval. You should be able to remember a word, number, button, error message, or page title, search for it, and find the right screenshot again. Click sequences are for documenting flows that need more than one screen: onboarding, bugs, checkout flows, internal tools, tutorials, QA steps, and product research. Annotations are there so the screenshot can become useful immediately, not just sit as a raw image. The goal is simple: stop treating screenshots as dead files in folders. I would love feedback on: • whether the value is clear quickly • which workflows feel most useful • what screenshot workaround you currently use • what would make you switch from your current setup Thanks for checking it out.
