Real-world use cases emerging after Smart Notification Alarm went global π
Hey PH community π
A few months after launch, something interesting is happening β users across 20+ countries are finding use cases I never fully anticipated when I built this.
Quick context: Smart Notification Alarm bypasses Android's silent mode and DND via a keyword trigger sent through any messaging channel (SMS, WhatsApp, etc.). No internet permission. No cloud. Just a cell signal.
Here's what people are actually using it for:
The obvious ones I expected:
β Parents reaching teenagers who live on silent mode
β Finding a lost phone at home by sending the keyword from another device
β Contacting elderly relatives who always forget to turn the volume up
The ones that surprised me:
β DevOps/SysAdmin teams using it as a last-resort on-call alert when PagerDuty notifications get swallowed by DND
β IoT setups triggering it via automated SMS β temperature sensors, power failure detection, intrusion alerts
β Industrial environments where PLCs send SMS on production line failures
β On-call physicians and nurses in hospitals where phones stay on silent
β Security systems converting automated alerts into unmissable alarms
Germany in particular adopted it in ways I didn't expect β heavy use in industrial and IoT contexts.

Curious to hear from the PH community:
What other use cases do you see for a keyword-triggered, fully offline audio override?
