When I started working on Slick, I was inspired by a simple problem: search engines are powerful, but they often feel slow, cluttered, or opaque. I wanted to build something that made finding information faster, clearer, and more transparent. Over time, my approach evolved a lot. Early on, I was focused purely on speed, but as I tested and iterated, I realized that ranking, relevance, and usability mattered just as much. That led me to rethink how results are fetched, displayed, and even how the backend indexes data. This launch is the result of that process. Trying to balance performance, clarity, and openness while still keeping some of the magic under the hood. I’m really curious to hear what you all think, what works, and what could be better!
