SketchCast - Live quizzes, polls & Q&A for keynotes - zero installs

by•
SketchCast is the real-time audience OS for keynotes and masterclasses. Attendees scan a QR code, pick an alias, and land in a live arena: timed quizzes, consensus polls, upvoted Q&A, leaderboards and AI session recaps. No app, no account, no friction - just the room.

Hey Product Hunt šŸ‘‹ I built SketchCast because the worst part of a great talk is the silence. You finish a point, ask "does that land?", and 400 people stare back at you. Not because they're bored, but because there's no low-friction way for them to answer. Slido, Mentimeter, Kahoot: all fine tools, but they ask the audience to become users first. Download this. Sign up here. Open a second tab. The room's attention leaks out at exactly the moment you need it. So the design constraint for SketchCast was: an attendee should be interacting within about ten seconds of seeing the slide. Here's what that looks like: Guest access, for real. The host puts a QR code on screen. You scan it, type the room passcode, optionally claim an alias, and you're in. No account. No install. If you close the tab and come back, you're still you. Five channels, one room. Quiz Arena, Live Polls, Q&A Feed, Leaderboard, Surveys all synchronised across every device in the room, over WebSockets with a client-side mesh failover. SketchCast's own numbers put propagation under 40ms; what matters practically is that nobody ever sees a stale slide. Quizzes that stay competitive. Time-weighted score multipliers, instant answer reveals, streaks, and a podium that keeps reshaping itself. This is the part that changes the room's posture; you can feel people lean forward. Q&A that moderates itself. Attendees upvote each other's questions, so the good ones surface without you triaging a firehose. Hosts can pin to Stage, mark Answered, and lean on three-strike moderation when someone decides to test the stage. AI that does the boring parts. When the room struggles with a quiz question, SketchCast drafts a follow-up remediation poll. At the end, you can generate an executive session recap in Markdown with one click. There's also consensus synthesis on polls and talking points on questions, so you walk out with the room's actual thinking, not just a vote count. And it looks like something. Editorial serif headlines, mono spec labels, warm paper stock, an orange accent, full light/dark. Deliberately *not* another purple-gradient dashboard. If you're putting this on a 20-foot screen behind you, it should look like it belongs there. Two things I'd genuinely love feedback on: 1. The host console is the next thing I'm deepening. Right now the sharpest experience is the attendee side. 2. What's the feature that would make you switch rooms mid-conference? I'm weighing deeper post-session analytics against better multi-room management. Try it on your phone; it's the real test. The demo room on the landing page is live: → Thanks for looking. Ask me anything about the real-time architecture. šŸŽ¤
