Simple Bills is a free finance app for freelancers and gig workers. Track bills, import bank statements, send invoices with PayPal, log mileage with GPS, and scan receipts with OCR — all free. I built this because I was tired of paying $30+/mo for QuickBooks just to track expenses and send a few invoices. The core features are free forever. Premium ($5/mo) adds spending charts and Schedule C tax reports. No VC funding. No ads. Just a solo dev solving his own problem.
