Simmerset - Plan the week's dinners and get one grocery list by aisle

Simmerset plans a week of dinners and writes one grocery list, sorted by aisle. Say who's eating, what they must never eat and how long a weeknight is, and you see three dinners before you sign up. An allergy takes a recipe out of every plan, and missing allergen data counts as containing it. Each line on the list shows which dinners need it. Use it on iPhone, Android or the web, free with no time limit. Leaving Mealime before October 21? Type the dinners you cooked there to find close matches.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm David. I started Spoonacular, the food data API, in 2013, and Simmerset is a dinner planner my company built on that data. You say who's eating, what they must never be served and how long a weeknight can be. Simmerset suggests three to seven dinners for the week. You keep, swap or lock them, and it writes one grocery list sorted by aisle. The first three dinners show up before you make an account. Most of the work went into two places: - Allergies and diets are asked apart from dislikes. An allergy removes a recipe from every plan; a dislike only moves it down. If a recipe's allergen data is missing or unverified, it counts as containing the allergen. - The list adds amounts up across dinners. Monday's 3 carrots and Thursday's 3 carrots are one line, 6 carrots, and each line keeps the dinners it came from, so dropping a dinner tells you what to leave on the shelf. The recipes are about 6,000 openly licensed ones from the Spoonacular database, and each one names the site it came from. Every dinner shows calories, protein, carbs and fat, and a step that names a time gets its own timer. Simmerset runs in the browser on any phone or computer, in six languages. You can export everything as JSON or delete your account yourself. What it doesn't do yet: there is no App Store or Google Play app (both are in review), no pantry, and the recipes are in English only. The free plan has no time limit. Plus is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year for saved weeks, more imports and up to six adults in one household. The timing comes from Mealime, which closes on October 21 and deletes its users' data. If you used it, the matcher takes the names of dinners you cooked there and finds the closest recipes in Simmerset. I'd like to hear where the plan or the list falls short for your household.
