What’s the first app you’d connect to a personal AI companion?

by

I've spent a lot of time thinking about what makes an AI assistant genuinely useful.

My conclusion so far is that the model is only part of the answer.

The bigger problem is context.

Your email knows one part of your day.

Your calendar knows another.

Your tasks are somewhere else.

Your notes contain ideas you've forgotten about.

Slack has decisions buried in threads.

And your AI usually sees none of it unless you manually copy everything across.

That's a big part of why I'm building Sidekick.

The goal is to give you one personal AI companion that can connect to the tools you choose and help you actually work across them.

So I have a genuine product question for the Product Hunt community:

If you could connect a personal AI companion to just ONE app or tool first, what would it be?

For me, it's probably email.

Not because I want AI replying to everyone automatically 😅

But because I'd love to ask:

"What happened today that actually needs my attention?"

Curious what you'd choose — Gmail, Outlook, Calendar, Slack, WhatsApp, Notion, GitHub, something else?

I'm actively using feedback like this to shape the Sidekick roadmap.
