Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm the maker of Serve, an open source platform to deploy apps, databases and services on your own servers. > Why I built it Hosted platforms are great until the bill grows with every app, database and preview. A cheap VPS can run all of it, but then you are back to writing Nginx configs, renewing certificates, writing backup scripts and hoping they restore. I wanted the parts of a hosted PaaS I actually use, on servers I control, with nothing to pay for. > What it does • Push to deploy from GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, Bitbucket, a Docker image, a Dockerfile or a Compose file. Zero downtime, health checks, rollbacks and pull request previews. • Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, Valkey and ClickHouse. Scheduled backups to disk or S3, test restores, and branches (a full copy of the data for a migration test or a preview). • Domains with HTTPS through nginx, Caddy or Traefik, renewed for you. • Many servers: add machines over SSH, even behind NAT, and load balance an app over them. • 491 one-click services: n8n, Plausible, Ghost, Nextcloud, Grafana and more. • Teams: organizations, roles, passkeys, 2FA and an activity log. Plus an API and a CLI. > Try it curl -fsSL | bash Any Linux server with 2 GB of RAM works. Open the dashboard on port 8000 and follow the setup guide. It's free and Apache 2.0 licensed. I'd love your feedback: what would stop you from moving an app to it today? I'll be here all day answering questions. ⭐ GitHub:
