Can AI become a manager’s second brain?

by•

I used to think being a good manager mostly came down to being available when your team needed you.

Turns out, that’s only half the job.

The harder part is remembering the little things.

  • The feedback you meant to give but forgot.

  • The person who’s been unusually quiet in the last couple of 1:1s.

  • The recognition you wanted to give someone after a great sprint.

  • The difficult conversation you keep telling yourself you’ll have “next week.”

Last week one of my close friends had a difficult conversation with his team member which he had been putting off for a while. It was the first time he had to have a difficult conversation with someone in his team.

It was a tough conversation, but it was also a conversation that was needed. And when I saw Semos Manager Agents on the leaderboard today, it made me think about how AI could be a great tool for managers to keep context across conversations historically.

It's difficult to manage people while also doing everything else to keep the business running.

I was chatting with the makers and they said is built specifically around this problem, carrying context from meetings forward and surfacing things like overdue feedback, recognition opportunities, difficult conversations, and team signals.

Not replacing the manager. More like giving the manager a second brain for all the things that are easy to forget.

Have you ever used AI for people management? Do you know of any other AI tools that can help with people management?
