Would you trust a task manager more if your company had its own database, not a shared one?
I'm launching QuickTaskManager on Product Hunt in a couple of days, and before I do, I wanted to ask something I've been thinking about a lot.
Almost every task/project manager out there (Asana, Monday, ClickUp, Trello...) puts every customer's data in the same shared database, with an internal ID separating companies. It's the standard, cheap-to-scale way to build multi-tenant SaaS.
I built QuickTaskManager differently: every company gets its own physically separate database and its own dedicated link (yourcompany.sepirox.com) instead of a shared login screen.
A few questions for anyone who's used tools like this at work:
Does "your data lives in its own database" actually matter to you, or is it just a technical detail nobody outside engineering cares about?
Have you ever had a bad experience (data leak, mix-up, slow performance) that you traced back to being on a shared multi-tenant system?
If a task manager gave you a dedicated address instead of a shared login page, would that change how much you trust it with sensitive project data?
Genuinely curious how much this matters outside my own head. Happy to answer anything about how it's built too.
