I’ve been noticing something interesting lately.

Some brands rank really well on Google — strong SEO, solid content, years of effort.

But when you ask AI tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity about that same category…


they don’t show up at all.

Not lower.
Just… not mentioned.

It feels like a different layer of visibility is emerging — where it’s not about ranking anymore, but about being selected as the answer.

I’ve been working on a tool called AVO.AI — focused on a problem we’re starting to see more often: brands not showing up in AI-generated answers.

AVO.AI helps analyze how your website is interpreted by AI systems — and identifies what’s missing for your brand to be recognized, trusted, and cited in those responses.

Instead of just optimizing for rankings, the goal is to understand:

  • why certain brands get mentioned in AI answers

  • and what needs to change for yours to be included

It’s less about traffic…
and more about being selected as part of the answer itself.
