Why most resume builders feel over-engineered (and how I tried fixing it with Resumora)
Hey Product Hunt community,
As a developer, I spent weeks watching friends struggle with basic online resume tools. Most existing platforms either lock standard exports behind an unexpected paywall or force users through rigid, sluggish wizards cluttered with ads.
I wanted to explore how minimal and fast a resume creation experience could actually be, so I built a lightweight web tool called Resumora: 🔗 https://resumora.github.io
The goal was simple:
Keep it fast with zero heavy bloat or mandatory signup friction.
Ensure output layouts remain clean and parseable for standard ATS screeners.
Give job seekers immediate, friction-free access to a working document.
For the makers and designers here: When you evaluate developer/productivity utilities like this, what balance do you prefer between granular styling control (fonts, spacing, layout blocks) versus strict, opinionated templates that prevent the user from making design mistakes?
Any candid thoughts on the flow, typography, or UI would be immensely valuable.
