Why I built WedX — and why the wedding market desperately needs it

by

Planning a wedding in Pakistan sounds exciting… until you actually start looking for a venue.

There’s no single place to discover venues.
No transparent pricing.
No easy comparison.
And most decisions still depend on WhatsApp forwards, phone calls, and personal references.

We realized something strange:

People can book flights, hotels, and taxis online in seconds.
But booking a wedding venue — one of the biggest life events — is still offline chaos.

Without WedX, couples face:
• Endless calls to venues
• Hidden pricing
• Limited options based on personal networks
• Time wasted visiting places physically

And venues face:
• Empty dates
• Poor online visibility
• Dependence on agents
• No structured demand generation

The market isn’t small — it’s simply unorganized.

Currently in Pakistan, wedding venue discovery is still fragmented and largely offline.
Having studied this market closely, we saw a massive opportunity to bring structure, transparency, and technology into an industry that impacts millions every year.

So I started building WedX.

Not just another directory,
but a marketplace where discovery, comparison, and booking finally become simple.

Our vision is bigger than weddings — we’re building infrastructure for how people discover and book event spaces in emerging markets.

Still early. Still learning.
But solving real problems one step at a time.

If you're in a different country — how does venue booking work in your market today?
