What founders get wrong about pre-MVP idea validation
Hey makers & solo founders,
After building dozens of side projects and watching many peers waste months building MVPs that turned out to be fake demand, I’ve noticed a huge gap in early-stage validation workflows — and I’d love to hear if you’ve run into the same pain points.
Most creators rely on two flawed ways to test ideas:
Generic survey tools that only collect surface-level answers, with no systematic way to measure real pain or paying intent.
Standalone AI idea checkers that lack real human user perspective, making results feel unreliable.
Offline user interviews are accurate but far too slow and costly for solo bootstrapped founders. There’s no all-in-one lightweight solution that combines fast AI analysis + authentic human feedback, plus a long-term growth path for new creators without startup resources.
That’s why I built SeedMit, a pre-launch validation platform built fully solo as a bootstrapped project. The core unique idea I wanted to test with this community: a structured 5-stage validation funnel to quantify pain point authenticity, paired with a dual AI + human review system. I also added a long-term growth & incubation pipeline to help consistent creators connect with investors once they build up verified project portfolios.
There’s a permanent free tier for anyone to test basic validation workflows, with optional subscriptions for higher review limits and multi-model AI analysis.
I haven’t fully launched on Product Hunt yet, and I’m still refining the whole experience. I’m genuinely looking for honest input from other makers here. A few open questions I’d love your thoughts on:
When validating a new startup idea, what’s your biggest pain with existing testing tools?
Would a built-in creator growth + incubation pipeline add real value to your early-stage workflow, or is it unnecessary extra complexity?
Do you trust combined AI + human feedback more than single-source testing for your own concepts?
If you’d like to take a quick look to share more targeted feedback, here’s the link: [www.seedmit.com]
All critical feedback, workflow improvements and feature doubts are incredibly welcome — I’m building this for founders like us, so community input shapes every update.
