We're Building an MCP Server for HR. What Would You Connect First?
We're exploring how Model Context Protocol (MCP) could simplify everyday HR workflows.
Instead of building another chatbot, we're thinking about MCP as a bridge between workplace systems and AI assistants.
Some of the workflows we're experimenting with include:
Retrieving leave balances and holiday calendars
Creating job openings from natural language prompts
Pulling employee information securely
Generating HR documents with company context
Summarizing performance data for managers
The interesting part isn't the AI itself it's deciding which actions should be exposed through MCP and which should always require human approval.
We're still early in the process, so I'd love to get feedback from other builders.
If you were designing an MCP server for enterprise software, what would be the first capability you'd implement?
