Synaptive — A personal knowledge graph for the content that shaped your thinking
Hey PH community 👋
I built Synaptive (https://synaptive.app) — a free tool that lets you map the books you read, movies you watch, podcasts you listen to, and draw connections between them.
The idea is simple: you read Sapiens, then watched Inception, and felt a connection. No algorithm made that connection — you did. Synaptive makes it visible.
How it works:
• Create a knowledge graph (e.g. "Books That Changed Me")
• Add content by searching real APIs (Open Library, TMDB, Spotify, YouTube, etc.)
• Write a personal note — not a review, but what it gave you
• Draw connections between content and explain why they're linked
• Share your graph publicly at synaptive.app/u/yourname
Tech stack for the curious: Next.js 14, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Prisma, React Flow, Tailwind, NextAuth, deployed on DigitalOcean with Docker.
Would love to hear what you think — and if you try it, I'd be curious to see what connections you make.
