Standups, calendars, invoices - records of the same week. Which one does your team actually trust?

Something I keep bumping into with small teams: we generate the same week three separate times, in three different places, and none of them agree.

1. The daily update. Standup, a Slack thread, a "what did you do today" bot. Everyone writes it. I'm not convinced anyone reads it a week later.

2. The calendar. Which is, quietly, the most accurate record any of us keeps. Nobody games their own calendar. It just sits there being right.

3. The timesheet / invoice. Filled in Friday at 6pm — or worse, at month-end — from memory, from Slack scrollback, from vibes. Then it becomes the number a client actually pays.

So, three questions for anyone running or working in a small team:

• Do your daily updates still earn their slot, or have they become theatre?

• Has anyone actually made the calendar the source of truth for billable time — or does it fall apart the moment work happens outside a meeting?

• When you invoice, how much of that number is reconstructed after the fact? Be honest.

Genuinely curious where people have landed, including "we gave up and just estimate."

Full disclosure: I build Stintt, which turns a team's Google Calendar into the timesheet so nobody fills one in — read-only, no timers, no screenshots. So I'm not neutral here.
